Bianca Piper, who's cynical and loyal, throws her Coke in Wesley Rush's face when he calls her "Duffy". Ever since, she's troubled by this word and keeps feeling herself ugly and fat. Then, issues happen, and she does something entirely crazy for distraction and ends up falling for the guy she hates the most.

I have to admit that I feel so connected with Bianca. She's intelligent, cynical and funny! She's sassy; she appears to be strong, but actually soft on the inside. I like how Miss Keplinger uses the dialogues to bring out the personality of each character, making them so distinct.

The story itself may appear to be a typical high school drama. But then, all the things happen in this book about family, friends, and love, is what makes this book so real and easy to relate to. And it inspires me a lot of these typical issues that we encounter every day.

Although I don't really like the way Bianca chooses to distract herself, it certainly brings out the idea that distraction is not the best solution. "No matter where you go or what you do to distract yourself, reality catches up with you eventually"
